Cake Smash
Photography experience
Cake Smash photography experiences are the perfect way to celebrate a first birthday.
The session is divided into 3 parts:
- We’ll start taking some photos of your little one playing with a range of handmade wooden toys to get them used to the studio.
- We will then get the cake out and whilst the child “smashes” the cake (literally!) I will capture photographs of them enjoying themselves. Lots of fun and smiles are guaranteed!
- Finally, we end the session with a bubble bath in the miniature studio tub.
Throughout the session, I will be looking to capture detail shots that have become a signature of LM Photography.
Clothing wise, I always recommend to wear something neutral which normally works really well with the colours in the studio and I also have a studio wardrobe with lots of different outfits and nappy covers to choose from.
I will take care of ordering the cake and the balloons, which arrive with me ahead of your session (please be aware for ingredients-free cakes there will be an extra charge)
Preparing for your session
- You have full access to my studio wardrobe for boys&girls outfits, hair accessories and nappy covers
- Refreshments (tea/coffee) will be provided during your shoot
- The cake and the white balloons are included in the price
A non-refundable deposit of £90 is requested upon booking.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best age for the session?
This is best for a first birthday but if you wanted the images ahead of the child’s birthday we can arrange from 10 months old. Likewise, if you are buying this a gift, we can photograph this experience just after the first birthday.

How do I book a session?

How many images will I receive?
You will receive 6 edited digital images within the price of your experience. You can choose your preferred images via your own private gallery. You can upgrade to the full gallery for £110 (50+ images)
Option available to purchase USB box and prints.
